Nixa, a Polish design studio, uses Zortrax’s M200 3D printers and the company’s dedicated printing materials to create a series of specialized sports camera accessories. These cases and mounts offer users better image stability and allow them to mount their cameras in previously inaccessible places. The company’s products aren’t highly priced, and projects can often be completed in a short period of time. 3D printing technology allows users to create completely original prototypes and experiment with new solutions before going into mass production. Nixa’s mounts have several common features: they can all move in three different axes and ensure stable filming in both the operator’s hand and when attached to an object or surface such as a steering wheel or a tennis racket. Thanks to Zortrax’s wide range of 3D printing materials, professionals can adapt their projects to perfectly suit their needs – whether they require mounts and cases that are extremely durable and or one’s that are lightweight.
Nixa’s Nut-Crusher mount is a product that seamlessly combines ergonomics and versatility, allowing users to mount their sports cameras on all sorts of circular surfaces with a diameter ranging between 15-30 mm. The use of Zortrax’s printing materials gives the product incredible durability, something that was unattainable when using other solutions. The Fig Rig! allows for stable filming thanks to its dedicated handles for both hands. Its central part features a mount that will hold any type of sports or small conventional camera, and the Rig’s upper part comprises of two rails which can be used to mount a camera flash or LED lamps. The company’s Shark casing, which is an ideal mount to use on all sorts of helmets, gives users the ability of either mounting their camera vertically or horizontally thanks to a system of dual holders located to the side and top of the casing. Nixa’s 3D printing projects are created and added to Zortrax’s Model Library. The Model Library is a cost-free tool which lets users store all of their 3D printing projects in one place and access them from various different devices. By linking the Model Library with the possibility of logging in with Facebook, it has also become a tool via which users can share their personal experiences and project results and give advice to one another.
The different projects and models available in the Library can be commented on, added to a user’s favorites, downloaded, edited and shared on social media. Zortrax’s Model Library includes the works of many famous artists and designers such as Samuel Bernier, Joe Bowers and Craig Barr.
The various projects presented by Nixa, the Polish design studio, show the incredible diversity of 3D printing technology’s applications. Combined with user ingenuity and creativity, 3D printing can lead to the creation of easily accessible and affordable solutions for professionals. Additionally, prototypes and equipment improvements can also be created and used throughout the many stages of a products development as a basis for further enhancements. Nixa’s accessories are the result of a particular response to specific market demands; taking into account the high price of readily-available accessories and focusing on improving their limitations. 3D printing technology hasn’t failed to surprise us one again.
